Not a pro, just enjoy doing them... have a look and tell me what you think if you have time... it's only about 3 minutes long.

Nice--it looks like you have very good rapport with your students.

They seem to have great English for thier age! Or maybe I've been in Japan too long now and have forgotten what the level is like over there. They seem really cool too.

The music and the opening and closing sequences with the shoes were my favorite parts.

Pretty good.

I like your choice of music. I had forgotten all about The Penguin Cafe Orchestra. Going to download some now.

Yeah...they are undoubtedly some of those kids who lived in the US while dad attended uni.

Cute video, Billy.

They may be advantaged by time in the US or just gifted, but I'm still starting to think, after 5 years in Korea and now one year in Japan, that the average level of English speaking, for both children and adults, is way higher in Korea than Japan. I wonder why that is.

I heard, don't know if it's true, that Japanese kids don't study English in elementary school.

They do, but it's appalling. It's taught by Japanese teachers who can't make a sentence. By the time they get to meeting a native speaker thier pronunciation is deeply messed up, this comes from using the Japanese alphabet to represent English sounds. They also just don't seem to take it seriously I guess. I mean, when I was in a Korean hagwon, the kids came three or two times a week for one hour. Here in Japan it's one time a week for 30 minutes. Most of them don't want to study and if you try to make them study they will quit and the parents are ok with this. It seems to be more of an "option" rather than the deadly serious business it is in Korea. You don't get Korean parents taking thier kid out of the hagwon because he comes home and says "Mommy, teacher made me be quite and do some work today, it's not fun".

Before the thread turns the corner and goes another direction I just wanted to say thanks for all nice comments... very cool of you to check it out. There are some more little, one and two minute videos on the page that were done in the last week and are centered around South Korea...
SLOW HELL, WITH THE KIDS, and LITTLE GIRL ON THE TRAIN.

if you have time, have a look and tell someone who you think might care. Thanks again for checking them out. And yes, those kids are all really sweet and so fun to be around. I have a blast with them, and beleive it or not, they actually speak better English than the video reveals... they were a little nervous, although the more I film, the less this becomes an issue, Sally's a prime example of that. (the one making all the faces and telling most of the story)

Hey Billysweet movie! It almost makes me want to go back to teaching kids in korea rather than make 40k teaching in the USA. In America, while teaching, I did hug a few Kindergartners who began to hug me first but I never practiced my wrestling skills on them. I can not say the same for Korea though... These movies shoe a terrible abuse of power by an overweight and mad American:
