Now, we're probably a while away from an East Asian Union, but if one does emerge, do you think it will be an EU stylish set of rules for labor? In other words, do you think there will be rules agains hiring NET speakers from outside the trading block?

Where would they get them? Philippines? India? Most koreans I've met aren't interested in learning english from people from there, so I can't see that going over well.
Even if they were allowed, I can't see india and the philipinnes suddenly providing sufficient numbers to replace all the NETs over here. there are 20-30000 just in Korea. Add up all the other countries over here that have them and you've gotta pushing 150,000 or more. |
