I just recieved my Visa number this morning so I put my application together and had everything sent this morning to the consulate in Chicago. It is suppossed to arrive at 10:00am tommorrow. The question that I have is that they said that it takes 3 to 5 days to process. When Italked to the school and my recruiter they said that the Consulate in Chicago was flexable and did things rather fast and that it should only take a day. Is this so because The school wants me to leave Monday afternoon on a 1:00pm flight so I can recieve training before my first day on Thursday the 27th. Do you think that this is a realistic expectation that my Visa will be ready Monday morning or do you think I should make plans to leave later. This whole situation is really bothering me because everything is being so rushed. So far things have run smoothly but I'm concerned that it might take longer for my Visa to be processed. I would appreciate any feedback. Shocked Exclamation Question

When I went through the Chicago consulate 2 years ago, it took 6 days from the time I posted it until the time I got it back. And that was with express shipping and everything. I would say wait until you have the VISA back before making your flight plans, or at least give yourself a couple of days lee-way. You can always try to call the airline and leave earlier if need be.

By the way, I would never trust a recruiter telling me that "Chicago can do it quickly. You'll be fine." I'd call the consulate and ask them.
