My hope is that this is the "rainy season" in Korea. It seems to me that it rains all the time here, without abating for days. Arrggh!

Well its pretty much destroyed my plans for the weekend (again). And of course you can bet on it being great weather during workdays.
Maybe it'll clear tomorrow.

Korean weather does seem to run in very fixed phases. No wonder they have various definite words for it over here.

Rain is forecast for pretty much the whole week coming up - at least until Thursday...

Yes, this is the rainy season. This one seems a little worse than some in the past, but about 3 years ago the East Coast had the kind of flooding North Konwon-do is getting now. (I was in South Konwon-do until this afternoon, and I wasn't sure if the roads would let us get out.)

The most common English word for it is "monsoon." It's worse in other parts of Asia. I was in Bangkok during the month of July a few years ago. Fawgedabahdit ...

Anyway, this seems to be normal. July in Korea looks a whole lot like December in Northern California ...

Yeah, what a crap weekend.

At least it's cooled down and I don't have to use the air con. And what a cheap weekend! I will start my short week smiling.
