Hi, I hope someone can help me. I just got hired through a school called TalkClub and I start next week.
The problem is that they just told me yesterday to bring them my original Birth certificate for immigration. And they said that immmigration may hold it or copy it.
Now, I already have an F4 Visa...why would they need my original birth certificate? Did anyone else have to give their birth certificate up to immigration?
any information on this is appreciated.
Thanks.

I did not
maybe it is due to the F-4 visa and verifying your status ..but for E-2 the answer is no... |

I should mention that I was born in Germany, but got naturalized in the United States. So I am a US citizen currently. Maybe that's why they need proof? Well, like you ChopChaeJoe, I will bring my original, and hope they don't need to take it away from me.
Thanks guys. |

Doesn't matter. If you already got your visa....tought luck for them.
This is probably your boss saying this crap so he has a bit of a hold over you. Never give your boss any original documents. If he say's it's for immigration, then you go with him and hand them to them in person. |
