WHile put togther with a very flimsy link, I would like to gripe about both.
1) Korea cable TV. I have watched Cheon Gun twice and Blade II three times this month. Seriously, why show the same movies so many times in a month. I know they change the next month, but even show a bad movie from the vault. They do show the movies a lot. Now, I honestly don't know why the show the same movie so many times. I myself go to a different channel because of this. Oh well, but if anyone actually knows the reason they do this, please tell.
2) WWE: Due to #1 gripe, I was watching the WWE. This lasted 5 minutes and I am proud of even that. Why is it popular? Why do people find it interesting? This is not an attack on it but a true question. I can see why some girls like DongBangShinGi, or people like Baywatch or soap operas, etc etc, but I don't understand the WWE. Atleast up until 10-15 years ago people mostly thought it was real, but it doesn't even have that going for it anymore ??? |

When you watch [enter your favorite movie / tv show here] do you think it is real? Of course not. Wrestling isn't about reality, but entertainment. The characters, the relationships, the battle between good and evil, the fanfare. Learn to appreciate it for what it is, and don't try to dig any deeper. There's nothing there. |

I know this, but I still don't get it. I am hoping enthusiasts will tell me what they find entertaining about it. Anyways, it isn't so much about good and evil nowadays anyways. |

HAHAHA, my 85-year old grandmother watches wrestling. Funniest thing I've ever seen.
At first, when I caught her watching it, I thought she had just turned on the tv and it happened to be on. But after the second time it happened, I asked her why she was watching. In Korean, she told me "*points to wrestler* that's the bad guy, he needs to be beaten up!"
I thought I was the only one with family who liked WWE - whew, I guess not!
Why do they like it so much? Perhaps the same reason why their comedy shows revolve around slapstick humor - unsophisticated, clear-cut entertainment that doesn't take much brainpower to enjoy.
I know it comes off a bit harsh, but I have yet to watch a comedy show that didn't strive for cheap shots or the 'yucks.' Give me good ol' 'The Daily Show'-esq satire anyday. |

Nostalgia. I starting to believe that's all it is. I think wrestling fans are hoping to see a glimmer of something they enjoyed from their childhood when they watch wrestling; whether it be an appearence by the the 'Immortal' Hulk Hogan, an old angle or skit replayed, or oily men wearing tights rolling around on the mat while people look on and cheer for one to pin the other into submission. |

| Wrestling is like soap opera for men. Amusing and entertaining but not to be taken seriously. If I watch it at the gym when I am on the treadmill I admire them more for the tremendous shape most of them are in. Takes dedication to do that. |

Yes, that is one thing I will admit. They are in good shape. Also, the choreography is pretty good too. Sometimes I don't know how they dont' hurt themselves. I am not putting it down, I just honestly couldn't see anything interesting in it. I guess a few answers have come up. Not that make me understand paying for a pay per view event, but alas |

It's been said that WWE is a osap opera for dudes and I can totally see that.
I don't watch it anymore, but some of the storie lines were quite funny. |

The beauty of it is that you don't have to pay for them in Korea. |

| My elementary students love it. Well, the boys do. They often ask me if I watch it and I tell them "when I was your age I loved it." I don't have the heart to tell them it's fake. |

Plus, you can see the glory of the WWE in Korea live once a year or so. |

I totally agree with an above post.
It's a way for grown men to get their soap opera fix without looking girly.
I mean pumped men in tights running around, with the flimsiest excuse to grab one another.
You slapped my tagteam partner! I'm gonna put your head between my legs and squeeze! [cheer]
Oh and by the way, IT'S FAKE!!! Do you get it??
If you really want to see fighting, watch mma or K1 |
