Hello! After 5 months of bullshit, my Director is finally getting my healthcare and pension (so she says!). I know that I will have to pay for my healthcare retro-actively, but i was wondering about my pension??
She claims that i will have to pay for the pension from the last 5 months, but i can't help but wonder if she is just trying to take more money from me?
Also, is there any way I can check to ensure that she actually has hooked up my pension?
Thanks a million! |

Why do you need to pay for the healthcare retoactively? Why do you have to pay for months of health care coverage when you weren't covered? (Just curious.) |

I believe it is because you are to be covered from the day you began employment -- and so even signing up late, you pay retroactively. You ARE covered for those previous months -- you just need to send the receipts in from any medical treatment you received in those previous months and you will be reimbursed for the costs that you paid above what you are covered for.
This is the same situation as having private coverage with an insurance company (such as SunLife, etc) in Canada. |

I suppose this is as good of a place as any to ask this, but WHAT exactly is a pension and why do you have to pay it? Also I hear things about pension refunds and such as well-what's the deal with that? |

If you are from the U.S. or Canada, it's in your best interest to make retroactive pension payments. |

I know we pay healthcare retro-actively, but are we supposed to pay retro-actively for the pension as well? |

Again, if you are from the U.S. or Canada, why wouldn't you want to? You'll get your contribution back, plus what your employer puts in. Free money. |

Hi I'm a newbe looking to nail down my Contract and I was hoping for some advice .
I have been told by my School that because I am from NZ and NZ and Korea doesn't have a National Pension agreement I don't have to pay for it ?!?
I am 95% that even though I don't get anything back I still need to pay...
I have rewritten the contract to clearly include National Pension and Medical Insurance (as well as clearly outline what constitutes overtime, and require my agreement to any changes in working conditions). But I was just told that the original contract was "fine" and I should just sign it and send it away!
I'm really happy with the school and don't really want to cause too much trouble, but one of the teachers told me the old boss extended their hours in March. Any advice would be appreciated |
