I'm just wondering if the area experienced flood damage the past couple weeks. I'm thinking about going there for a few days vacation next week but will make other plans if roads and trails are not in good shape. What's it like out there these days?

I just chatted on the phone to a friend there, and she said it was flooded out earlier but it's just soggy at the moment. She just got back from OS yesterday though, so she hasn't seen the town much for herself yet. She didn't seem overly concerned about any damage to infrastructure though.

Roads and paved areas are fine. The countryside is a little damp. Can't say anything about the mountains and hiking trails.

A student mentioned today that until a few days ago, the Soyang Dam was "overflowing with water":

I just got back from there. No problems hiking etc.....I just did Gugok falls and it is terrific with so much water. But the trails are dried up already even though the river is a little high but the paths are for the most part okay, along there.

Our group did Nami Island. Nice little sortee and the bonus was that because of the rain, many Koreans stayed away and it was a pretty solitary and thus nice , excursion.
