I have an interview at a university in Seoul if I can get there (they're in a big rush to finish interviewing this week and I have to work until Tuesday)... but in the meantime I have job offers from public schools that are pushing for a commitment. A couple hagwons too.
Why is everybody so anxious now? Do I have a bit of time to consider my options further? |

If you're going to pass on the uni job, let me know, I'm interested. |

Technically it's a "college" ... hmmm... kinda funny, I guess in Korea that would be the US equivalent of a "technical college"... hee heh.
Anyway, the recruiter that set me up, or hopefully can set me up, with the interview will take 30% of my first month's income as a finder's fee. Is this common? It seems pricey... I don't know squat about this process though.

It's B.S. Don't agree to this. The school should pay any recruiter's fee.
The fact that the school is not willing to do this to find a teacher should raise red flags about how you are likely to be treated. |

I agree with UrbanMyth. Don't even bother going to the uni interview. |

Paying a recruiter??? Not unless the job comes with magic beans. (Or if it was a job I wouldn't otherwise get.. if they're offering 5months vacation and a salary of 3m plus 500k housing allowance and 10m key money.. then sign me up!) |
