|
|
My boyfriend ordered some things from home. Altogether they total about $400 USD. He used the address on his boss's business card, which it turned out was wrong! It was only off by two numbers in the post office code but the package never came. We used the school's address because there is someone to sign for it there. It has been 6 weeks and another package sent out on the same day from the same post office was already recieved.
We called the local post office. Due to brain fart on my boyfriend's father's part there is no tracking number to be had. I have heard that customs will in some cases hold packages. Any suggestions? |

I'd say go down there with a Korean friend. I've had the same problem, and it's been resolved that way.
I had to comment, because I was just over in the "Hunk or ..." thread looking at a picture of a very effeminate male, then I looked at the title of this thread.... and I got them confused for a moment. |

| Wait... We waited for six months once. It showed up back at the sender at that time. We called the post office but there was no way they could track it. You might just have to wait it out. |

We don't live in Seoul to go to customs if that's even where it is. Also, we leave in four months so... |

| Did you call the company that you ordered the stuff from? Maybe THEY know what happened to it! |

Like I said, my boyfriend's father can't find the tracking number so when he called the USPS they were like "Uhhhh, what do you want us to do?" |

Seoulsista, first of all, deep breaths.
Secondly, how come you're Seoulsista if you don't even live in Seoul? Makes no sense to me. You know, that's probably what's holding the parcel up. BTW, what are the contents of the parcel? Could it be something that Korean customs agents might consider... weird? spooky? controversial? harmful to the morals of Korean youth?
Third, how's the weather down in... Daegu, was it? Current temperature in the Sweat Lodge is 30C. That's down a whole degree from the avg. for the month and cause for wild celebration..... Salut!
This other parcel that went out the same day as the missing one and which already arrived, did it have the same (wrong) address on it as well? If so, strange. You say it has been six weeks since the packages were both sent. How long ago did you receive the other one? Were they sent by sea or air or donkeyback? If by ship, it wouldn't come via the customs house in Seoul but rather the one in Busan, so there's no point in your coming up here unless you'd like to visit our royal palaces, our national museums and our top-ranked universities. |

When you said that your boyfriend "ordered some things from home", I assumed that he ordered them from a company. Sorry if I got that wrong.
If the customs form showed that the items were worth over $200, your things are probably held up at customs. Have someone from your school call them. You'll have to pay a hefty import fee. |

Breathing just fine.
Seoulsista, because I lack creativity. Are you with the Moniker Regulatory Agency?
The contents were a camera lens, ipod memory card, credit card (hasn't been used), and underwear. Nothing crotchless just plain-old men's underwear.
Daegu is currently in Korea's lesser recognized 5th season, inferno.
Yes, the other parcel had the same wrong address.
Recieved the other one two weeks ago.
Both sent by airmail.
Maybe you could go there for me and then come to Daegu and drop it off. While here you could visit any number of Lotteria's, PC bangs, and mountains. Eat your heart out. |

I don't think the postcode is the problem, I was using the wrong postcode for months because the colleague who recruited me told me the wrong code and my stuff turned up fine.
The only worrying situation I had was my winter clothes that I shipped from home before leaving took 17 weeks instead of the 6 weeks they told me at the post office. I sent them by sea obviously, but 17 weeks seemed an excessive time. They did turn up though and I am sure your stuff will.
Even with a tracking number I couldn't find out any thing useful, the report just said 'in progress'. |
