I have had a very successful eight months at my first Hakwon in Busan Korea, but I think it's time to move on when it's up in late February.
I'd like to start around March 15 to have some chill time but I'm a little flexible.
Who can help me find a good job for my second contract? (Actually, third, I did a winter camp, too).
Since I am a musician, (drums, guitar, trumpet, mandolin, synth) I was hoping to find a job incorporating music, but on the other hand I also am thinking of going the UNI root.
I have an impressive resume and a good reference from my current and former employers. Nothing says Korea is the only place I would go...Quality of life is my first priority, followed by decent pay. Southeast Asia? Japan? China?
("Quality of life" pretty much rules out split-shifts, crappy directors and coworkers, unfair pay, bad apartment...you know, all the normal stuff people groan about around here).
Anybody that helps me find a really GOOD job I'll Paypal you $200 when I sign.
PM me if you like.
NO WET BLANKETS and NO RECRUITERS.
This board is full of 'em.
Here's my site. I'm serious about the $200. I'll donate it to your favorite charity if you don't want it personally.

Said by someone with no experience working there.
The Admins are worse than the Hangooks and the pay is well... third world.
Only go if you have a stash you don't mind dipping in to, because you will. |

Thats not necessarily true - I know plenty of people who have worked in Thailand and have actually been able to save money. Of course, privates help - and are legal - but if you get a good job paying 40,000+ (some offer over 60,000 if you're suitably qualified), you'll be fine. |

I doubt this board is full of recruiters -
and are you one of the wet blankets? offering people $200 to do your job hunting for you?
how about all the people who would spend their time and effort trying to get you a GOOD job - which you can just say "No! - I want something better!" |

| You might want to try Hansei University in Gunpo (near Seoul), if they are hiring for March. Pay not the greatest but the school is known for its music department, and who knows what they might let you do. It is a fundamental Christian university, however, if that is a problem for you and its not a very big university. |

The Paypal offer is very legit, however you are going to have to Google the conversion rate yourself, mate

$200 is approx 200,000 Won, innit?
Not much of an incentive...otherwise I'd happily put some serious suggestions your way.
I think the money-offer thing is a good idea, but 200k is a pittance I'm afraid. |

(shrug) Sorry if my humble yet effective strategy is offensive to you. I will remind you that this is the internet and I am free to reach out to people in any way I choose.
I have actually chatted with several interesting people and have already corresponded with a couple of schools about the possibility of working there. No decisions yet, obviously, but I am very pleased to have corresponded with the folks who have PM'ed me and posted here as well.
Most of the folks that PM'ed said they didn't want the money anyway. They were just being nice. Sorry if my offer bothers you. Didn't seem to bother anyone else.
However, if you PM me with you info, I'll Paypal you $15 for a nice dry blanket. That one your wearing is getting pretty SOGGY

I have had a very successful 6 years at my schools in Seoul Korea, but I think it's time to move on when it's up in late August.
I'd like to start around September 15 to have some chill time but I'm a little flexible.
Who can help me find a good job for my seventh contract? (Actually, fourteenth, I did six winter camps, too).
Since I am an alcoholic, (whiskey, wine, beer, liquer, spirita) I was hoping to find a job incorporating drinking, but on the other hand I also am thinking of going the UNI root.
I have an impressive resume and a good reference from my current and former employers. Nothing says Korea is the only place I would go...Quality of life is my first priority, followed by decent pay. Southeast Asia? Japan? China?

Anybody that helps me find a really GOOD job I'll fed-ex you $1,000 of American-express traveller cheques, an 80 inch flat-screen tv, a hyundae equus, a toaster and a pet monkey named Trevis when I sign.
PM me if you like.
