I've been reading and re-reading The Power of Now. For those of you not familiar with the book, the author states, in short, that the present moment is all that exists, and that the key to ending all pain and suffering is to, essentially, live consciously in the present moment and connect with whatever you want to call the infinite intelligence that comprises everything and lies within each one of us: God, the Universe, life energy. Yes, its true: The book is not new. Nor is it stating anything new; it is a product of Eastern spiritual traditions and thousands of years of wisdom. But the manner in which the author distills and encapsulates these truths is astoundingly poignant and powerful to me. I wonder if anyone else has had a similar experience with this book.

My intention here is neither to debate the merits of the book nor to imply that my beliefs are superior to anyone elses; I truly respect all beliefs concerning God and spirituality. I only wish to find like-minded people who have an Eastern or progressive spiritual orientation and who live in Korea, especially in the Seoul area. I have been interested in joining groups who might meet in association with a Buddhist temple, for example, but have discovered that its not like going to church and participating in organized events. Could anyone help in this regard? I enjoy life here in Korea, but connecting with a spiritual community would certainly enrich it. Thank you.

I'm a proponent of living in the now but I dont feel any need to seek out some kind of group confirmation.

Being here now is its own reward. Its nice theres no ism attached to it.

Do it for yourself & everything else will fall into place.
