|

I started working March 1 at a school called MokDong Wonderland. I got a letter of release from the school around the middle of May and found another job at athe Ehwa Institute. There was a problem with the letter of release, because I had not gotten my Alien Registration Card yet, as my old boss never gave me the papers I needed.
My new boss tried to masquerade as my old boss to get me my card. The immigration office know my old boss, and called him, who then said that I had run away from my job and had my visa cancelled. It seems like my old boss has been very uncooperative with this situation, but I'm not sure because everything has been done without my knowledge. Most of what I'm typing I just found out a couple of hours ago. Also, everyone is telling me only half the story, and I've had to piece together this based on what little information I have.
Anyway, my recruiter said that because my visa was cancelled, I have to leave the country by Monday. I can reenter and get a tourist visa, and continue working, if my new visa application goes through. But I'm not sure my new visa will go through.
So I have 2 questions:
1. Is anyone familiar with a similar situation, and knows my chances of the new application going through?
2. What's the cheapest way to leave the country so I can reenter on a tourist Visa?
Thanks to whoever takes the time to read this and answer my questions |

Well as your visa has been cancelled you should have minimal difficulty in obtaining a new visa. The ferry to Japan and 2 nights accomodation will set you back about 250,000 won or just get a return ticket on the ferry for the same day, no problems. |

| I hope so, for various reasons, I'd hate to have to leave the country. Especially on such short notice. |

| Could I take a ferry to China and get a tourist visa that way? Would it be any cheaper than going to Japan? How much would a round trip ticket to either country be if I wanted to come back on the same day? |

You could do that if you had a Chinese entry visa. If you don't have one then you will have to pick another country.
Japan by ferry is usually the cheapest but you may be able to get cheap air tickets to Taiwan as well.
All you need to do is leave the country (have your Korean exit stamp in your passport) and then you can re-enter on a visa waiver stamp and wait for your new E2 to get processed and make your visa run.
From Wonderland to EWHA?? out of the pan and into the fire by the sounds of it... good luck.... your gonna need it. |

| I don't know how bad most Ehwas are, but mine seems to be real nice. My boss so far has been real nice to me, and I'm having a much easier time there than at my old school. |
