TOEIC Fee Hike Angers Test Takers
The current fee for the TOEIC test is set at 34,000 won. Future test takers could pay up to 120,000 won if they choose to take the additional options.

The price hike comes as a shock to students who take the test occasionally. "I don't understand why the price needs to be this high. They say speaking and writing will be optional, but I am sure that companies will require them," Chang Eun-young, a graduate student criticized. She takes the test three to four times a year and according to the new price, she will have to pay more than 400,000 won.

Recently, TEPS or FLEX is emerging as a new tool among companies to evaluate English skill.

One, why take the test 3 or 4 times a year???

Two, I can't remember if it is the TOEIC or TOEFL, but they just added a speaking part. Use native speakers do not do those speaking tests for free. They are so fricken boring and repetitive, they will have to pay the native speakers a lot for them. That consided, a raise of 400% seems strange. You don't need that much more for speaking.
Anyways, I did the TOEIC, got a 960 out ofza 990. One of my students go t a 980 and laughed at me. The other foreign teachers at my school got 940 and 920. And, obviously, we are native speakers. There are just some questions that are really ambiguous not to mention I heard the TOEIC is scaled.
