I am going to Itaewon next week to get some supplies. Can anyone recommend a foreign food store there. Do they still sell rootbeer? |

Try Hannam market. The nearest station is actually 한강진. You need to exit the train station and cross over the main road via the bridge. Walk down the hill. It's next to the volvo dealership. It's a very good store. Not sure about root beer. I have never wanted to buy it so I wouldn't know.

The Red Door Market has rootbeer. Namdeamun has a large foreign food market as well. Hannam market is quite good. I recommend all three. |

Where is the Red Door Market ???
I have been to Hanam, they have a good selection. The wife and I are just stopping by the Hamilton for lunch, and then coming back. Anything else of interest in Itaewon, that I can check out in an hour or so??? |

You can buy root beer right on the street in Itaewon from one of those old ladies. You can even buy a case of 12 cans for 12,000 won. They have Barq's and A&W. |

The Red Door - go to the Gekko's BK street and walk for 5 minutes, its on the left. The store has a red door and red trim and a moderately tinted window. |

Just walk down the mainstreet on the Outback/Subway side of the street and there are ladies just selling drinks on the sidewalk. Some will sell you cases when you get down towards the end, where that sidestreet is. |

Hannam Market is kind of a pain to get to. There is a great market with foreign good right behind Gecko's. I'm not sure about Root Beer, but they have Canada Dry Ginger Ale, Dr. Pepper, etc cheaper than other places. I go there to buy Havarti cheese, salami, and good salsa sometimes on the way home Sunday. They also have a decent bakery with real rye bread, french bread, etc. But they're usually sold out by the time I get there. They close at 10:00 PM though so that might make it an early night. |

There's a foreign food market near What the Book. They have cilantro, cherry pie filling, really good non-sticky rice, and a few other odds and ends. Not as big as some of the others though. |

Red Door is too expensive, IMO. It's more expensive than Hannam Supermkt., but I don't remember seeing rootbeer at Hannam... |

Going off on a tanget here, but what exactly is "root beer". I laughed when I read the post - "root" is a slang word/euphamism in Australia for getting busy in the sack! |
