Ye-ha! Gonna shake the dust of this one-horse two-bit town off my and come up to the big cityBright lights! Restaurants! Culture! Bars! Anyone wanna meet up?
One rule. Im surrounded by Koreans here, so I dont really want to talk to any while Im up there. Nice as you can be, please stay away. While Im at it, since I struggle to understand Konglish every day, I dont want to put up with Japlish and Chinglishso feel free to join the East Asians on the other side of the street and have your own party.
Im not that wild about anyone from Asia, if you want to be honest. I figure all the South Asians working here couldnt get in to Europe or else theyd be there. So they are probably losers. Dont need em. Wont even mention the Nigerians.
So that leaves us native speakers. Hurray for us!
I may as well be direct though. If you have a heavy accent, Im sure youre a nice enough person and all, but I dont want to be saying Hunh? Whatd you say? all the time. Dont be thick. Take the hint. It isnt really personal. Just a matter of preferences.
Now I feel like were getting somewhere. Hurray for us North Americans! Well, Americans and maybe half the Canadians. If youre a notAmerican, Ive heard it before. Go drink your Molson somewhere else.
I just realized something. Who I really want to hang out with are some of my fellow Americans. Hurray for us! Or is that Hurray for the US? HmmmIm never sure. Itd be really cool to spend some time with folks like back home, except not exactly like the people back home since I didnt much like them when I was there. Whos up for hanging out this coming week sometime? But if youre a redneck, I just dont need you. And if youre a libertarian, then chances are you are a flake, so no thanks. But if youre a liberal, then we can talk, unless youre an East Coast liberal snob. Dont want any more of that. And Left Coast folks arent that much fun because you cannot take personal credit for the weather.
I came half-way around the world for some exotic adventures. Are there anymore people out there like me who wanna hang out with someone just like them? Im sure we could have a good time. One of my favorite things to do is sit outside at an LG25 on those white plastic chairs, drinking beerBud, of course!, and people watch. Its amazing how many people going by remind you of someone back home. Great way to spend an afternoon in Asia.
Calling all (cool!) Americans!!! |
