Its amazing that whenever I get back into Korea, I want to leave it again. Last time it was being ripped off by a taxi driver and yelled at with some blah blah blah and 'meegook' and a thumbs down!

This time, its the whole bumping thing. I dont think Ill ever get over it. So, I just got off the plane from a 12 day vacation in Thailand (and nobodoy bumps in Bangkok!) and Ive been in Korea a whole 30 minutes.. waiting for my suitcase when... BUMP.. by some fat Korean woman.. I glare at her like what on earth was THAT for lady! Im working on 2 hours sleep here..... She just walks like no big deal then... BUMP about a minute later.. I look around, plenty of room to walk without bumping right into me! errrrrrrrrrrrr........ some guy with his trolly and bags.... i glare at him too but he sticks his nose up like hes all that and a bag of rice... and then another BUMP.. on the way back from the same man. I got bumped again but some young chick too. All in a span of like 10 minutes.

Now heres what I think:

A. They want me to yell at them.
B. They want me to punch them.
C. They are freakin THAT blind to public courtesy.

I can be socailly retarded sometimes and a bit passive, but any hints on what to say to someone the next time they do this would be great. I really hate it and I dont think its too much trouble to walk around me if there is plenty of room to do so. Its just the look in their faces like they have the RIGHT to do it?!? I really sometimes think its racist! (not all Koreans are racist, but some are just like some Americans are)

I know excuse me: shill-yea-hamnida... but should I say something like, hey buddy watch it!... or what? I cant just stand idle anymore. Its pissing me off.

Thanx Smile Other than that........ gosh I need to get out more. I only know one person irl from this board. Smile

You have to see it coming and drop the shoulder.

Why bother attempting to shout something back in Korean? they'd only laff at your pronunciation. Use english.

Junior does what should be done in this type of situation: Give it right back to 'em.

Right on, Junior.

Option 'C', eh, is it, eh, Canadian. Sheer BIGOTRY!

My Fellow Instructor:

Racist Canuckleheads are everywhere in the Maritime Provinces. Heck, though, they are numerous in every Canadian area in which I lived from coast-to-coast for African uni budies of mine were attacked for the Crime of Being African in every Province in which I resided, Madam/Sir.

Come on, now, we are referring to a nation that desegregated its schools after the U.S.A. did so; We are typing lines about a nation that still has a hotel in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island (the Birthplace of Confederation due to the Charlottetown Conference) that is proud to sport the Gallow's Lounge where a thirteen year old black kid was hung right there for stealing a piece of bread in the 1930s. Honest to God, this place existed at least as late as Summer, 2000.

Perhaps P.E.I.Guy has better, more inside info about the construction clan from Morell, P.E.I. who threw me out of the hotel for complaining about Yankee bashing from the McDonald who manned the Front Desk back on the night before I was to enrol at the University of Toronto in late Summer of 1994.

Many years of my life were spent living in my matrilineal side of the fam's nation: B.C., Quebec, Ont., and EVERY OTHER PLACE I VISITED OR LIVED IN, eh, was hardcore racist. It is not only a caucasian problem in the States. Why can not many Canadians admit that Canada is not free from lots and lots of hardcore racist bigots?

I've yet to visit Yellowknife, Dawson, or any of the Aboriginal Centres way, way up North, eh. I'm sure, though, that forked-up Canuckleheads and racist Abos reside in those areas, too.

I know excuse me: shill-yea-hamnida... but should I say something like, hey buddy watch it!... or what? I cant just stand idle anymore. Its pissing me off.

Thanx :) Other than that........ gosh I need to get out more. I only know one person irl from this board. :)

The best comment I had when bumped was when I was in line at Costco. I got bumped and crowded so I turned around, said "excuse me", made a back up motion with my hands, and then said, "stop touching my butt"
The woman behind me didn't get it, but the woman behind her did and started laughing.

I've heard 2 stories

#1 . it means remember your "pleases" and "thank yous". thn latter having the q sound

#2 in old England barkeepers would say something about watching your "pints and quarts" when things started to get hairy cuz bugs would start falling out of the ceiling as a result of the thugs bumping around.

(story #2 is a bit off, but you get the basic ide
