Today as my husband and I were eating lunch in his mom's apartment in Mokpo, the 'fog man' came. He clouded all of the aparment hallways and apartments with a white gaseous substance. No place was left untouched by this..we finally had to run out on the outside staircase to escape until the fog could dissipate about 10 minutes later.
My husband says they do this once a year to kill the 'bad bacteria'. I hope that in killing bad bacteria they do not use cancer causing susbtances.
We're going back to the U.S. on Sunday and I will miss Korea, but I will not miss the fog man. Good riddance! |

He came to my apartment too! Or rather, they came to my apartment complex.
I was on the phone when I looked outside from my 7th floor window, and realized that I could not see outside. Something must be on fire - the smoke was so thick. There were trucks driving around the apartment complex parking lot, spewing huge clouds of this white fog all over the cars, trees, bushes, bikes, etc. They were still at it by the time I had to leave... people seemed unconcerned as they walked through it, but I put my shirt over my nose and mouth and booked it.
I have the same concerns... if they're trying to kill something with that fog, what damage would it do to people? Anyone know anything about this? |

Once a year...here they do it nightly...
I always run and close the windows...he's on a scooter too, so at first I thought he was just a wacko who mixed the oil too rich, but then my wife told me what he was doing...spraying for bugs...
...nutty guy drives thru the local kids park not before doing a donut around the water fountain/splash pool 2 or 3 times...no wonder the MOGI has become such a relentless beast in these parts...they are likely immune to it by now... |

I've seen the mogi man a lot before, but this was different. This was the bacteria fog man. The fog covered a wider area--and it did look like the entire building was smoking and on fire.
I don't like the mogi man either though.
maeil: maybe today is fog man day or something... |
