Wierd. I was interviewing for a public school position when the guy asked me, "how many brothers and sisters do you have?" I suppose you could tie that to how I relate to kids, but he asked the question while we were discissing possible cities to work in. It was random and made me wonder if the next question would be something like, "do you like to eat monyey brains?"

It's an unusual question for a job interview, but it might have just been a getting-to-know you kind of thing. People here ask me about my family a lot more than anyone ever did at home. I think some people just want more of a glimpse into who you are, where you came from, how you fit in your own family structure and society, etc., so they can place you in some kind of context.

Maybe he would like to recruit them too and so all under one roof he'd save on housing cost.

It's possible he only knows how to ask a few questions correctly in English, and that's one of them.

Did he also ask, "Can you eat Korean food?" or "Why aren't you married?"

I went in for an interview... There were 7 people conducting the interview.

How many siblings I had.
Where I was in the order.
What my parents did when I was growing up, and what they do now.
How much money they made.
Why I wasn't married.

They all spoke english really well... and had spent time overseas. I think they were seeing how well I responded to pressure (with them all firing questions at me), and if I'd lose my cool when they asked me rude questions. They actually asked me how I handled "rude" questions.
