Hi all,
Any idea where one can get rid of clothes? I have a huge garbage bag full that I'm not taking with me, and I'd rather not hike across Seoul with it to consign it. Do you know if there any used clothing bins kicking around, and if so, what do they look like?
Thanks! |

| The apartment building I used to live had a bin for used clothes right next to the rest of the recyckling bins. You could take a look around, maybe one of the apartment buildings near you have them as well? I think I remember seeing some (yellow?) collection boxes at some parking lots as well. Other than that, well, maybe the salvation army or other organisation might be interested. Good luck! |

| In my city, we have blue metal drop boxes. About 150 centimeters high, and maybe 45-50 centimeters on a side. |

| If all else fails, take them to the closest church. I'm pretty sure they'd be able to help you out. |

If you were to consign them, where exactly would you do that? |

| Most apt complexes have a bin for used clothes. The one I remember was black. Could you ask someone at your school what the local ones look like? |

When I lived in Mapo-gu (not far from Sinchon) there were yellow bins about every few blocks.
I'd post the area your in and see if anyone from your side of town has a better idea where to go. |

| Do you live in a residential neighborhood, in or near an apartment complex, or on a campus or in a business district? |

| You need to look for a box (colors include yellow, orange, black, but most often blue or green) They usually say "hun Oat" (헌옷) on them. If you live in an apartment complex...there is almost always a bin in a central location. If you live in a house or residental neighborhood, you can look around for a strange looking box that looks vaguely like a mailbox without the handle on the door (the hole will be in the side with a cover of a sort over it)...It will have the above word on it....just drop it in there. Another option would be to go to an apartment complex and dispose of them there. |
