Yes, but only during a few weeks of the year when I have extra grading to do.

Yeah, a lot (8-10 hours a week), which is only ok since I only teach 3 days / week.

In which kind of schools do you work? Universities? Public Schools?

No way! Thats one thing I love about my job. My work stays at work. I don't even think about work when I'm at home.

I'll do some lesson planning and material making at home. Adds up to a couple of hours a month. Used to have to take work home at the old hagwon, but that experience has led me to adopt a "work stays at work" philosophy. The only reason I type stuff up at home sometimes is the computer at work is very slow.

I work at a hagwon and I would never, ever take stuff home with me. It astounds me that people actually do.

No way.
I have to be at work from 9 to 6.
That's plenty, thanks. |

All of my prep and grading is done at home and I'd say that it is subtantially more than my weekly teaching hours.

I sometimes prepare materials, plan lessons, or do student evaluations at home.

All prep and grading at home. overall about 1 hour of class time equals one hour of time outside the class working.

Would I rather stick around school and plan my lessons or take them home and plan them? I'll take option B. |
