So, I've been here for about 6 weeks and I'm suffering from some serious Seinfeild withdraws. Does anyone know where I can find some Seinfeild, Sapranos, and possibly even Trailer Park Boys box sets. It would be a bonus if they were from a street vender for super cheap, but that might just be wishful thinking.

Well, you can get official Sopranos Box Sets from Kyobo bookstore in Jongno - go through the front exit across from Burger King and go into the small DVD section immediately to your right at the bottom of the stairs. They are on a table there. (At least, last time I was there.)

I've seen Seinfeld at the music store in COEX.

There was pretty much entire series of Seinfeld uploaded onto YouTube.com until about a month ago. My friend says that most have been removed because they were uploaded against copyright regulation. I haven't looked recently. However, it's probable that people will continue to upload there from time to time, as is happening with the k-drama series on that site. YouTube could save you quite a few bucks.

Good advice. I'd prefer the DVDs just because it makes for better viewing. But i will definetly check out those sites for downloading. As for Costco, I have a membership there but haven't seen any DVD's, movies, etc. Where, in Costco can you find these??

Go to Youngsan electronics market in Seoul. Some dealers have pirate TV box sets in the basement floor of one of the buildings. The building has a line of pirate dvd vendors outside the building. These guys only sell music & film dvds. For the tv series dvds, you have to go inside the building to the basement floor.

This is true everything from Gilmore Girls to Sopranos. I got The Sopranos to season 5 right now. Need to get my 6 feet under updated too.

Has anyone seen a pirated Iron Chef anywhere? NOT the lousy Iron Chef USA program, but the delightfully cheesy Japanese original by Fuji TV. It is absolutely unavailable in the U.S. and I can't find it anywhere on yesasia. It seems like Fuji never licensed it for release on either vhs or dvd.

Take the subway to Yongsan station. Head out and take a right onto the covered walkway that takes you across the trains. Go down one flight of stairs and then turn right (I think) through another shorter walkway. Go down the stairs and then cross the street. Immediately in front and to you right you'll see a set of double doors, down which you'll find probably the best DVD selection in one place at Yongsan.

As soon as you get to the bottom of the stairs, do a U-turn to your left and you'll see a small shop where you can get "classic" stuff like Indianna Jones and Star Wars (I put classic in quotes to differentiate from someone who wants like Citizen Kane or the like). Head a bit in the back and you'll see quite a few vendors who have all the recent boxed sets and often provide you with frequent-purchasing cards (get it stamped ten times and get a free movie, or the like).

Let me know if my directions make any sense.

Agreed! Also do it because God frowns on copyright violators. Tibs and me, we're going to that Big Cineplex in the Sky when it's our time. Well, that is if he can convince the Big Man that what happened yesterday was just a sad, sudden case of Tourette's syndrome.
