|
|
I recently got paid holiday pay (i was'nt allowed to take all the days off work, so my boss agreed to pay it)= 8 remaining days out of ten.. However, to pay it my boss divided my pay into 30 days of the month and then *8 to calculate it. I don't think this is fair as I have never worked a weekend day and its not in my contract. I think I should be paid for 8 full days. Heres what my contract states. "There will also be 10 days paid holidays during school vacation periods 5 days in the summer and 5 in the winter." Has anyone had a similar experience and what are the legalities? Any ideas what to do? |

Replying mostly cause I want to hear the result, but I know your boss isn't playing fair. There is a legal way to calculate it. I think it was posted in the last couple of weeks..... Anybody? |

that ofcourse is not really correct, no one works 30 days a month.
normally it is about 22 to 24. so worst case scenario is 24. |

I don't know about Korean law but in the UK if you don't take up your holiday entitlement you're not entitled to any money. The law is entirely governed by the contract. You were entitled to 10 days paid holiday but you didn't take them. It's too late to complain now. I don't think you have a leg to stand on. |

show her your salary divided by amount of workdays(20 or 21) times 8
tell her that if she is going to steal money from you that you will blacklist her and her school...which will cost her more in the long run |

I had the same situation when I filled in for a month and two days at a hagwon over the summer. A first, he tried to pay me for just a month. When I brought up the extra days, he did the months salary divided by thirty times two thing. I protested, and tried to show him the other calculation, but he insisted that's the way they do it. Live and learn and move on. At least that's what I did. |
