Hi all,

Here's my initial, very-little-research done, post on traveling this Christmas.

I'm thinking:

Fly from Incheon to Singapore on December 23rd. Spend a few days in Singapore, Christmas at the Zoo.

Possibly go to Sumutra - has anyone ferried there from Singapore?

Head to Malaysia. Here's where we're stuck - we love seeing cultural bits (cities), love a bit of adventure (cave hiking, suspension bridges that we've seen mentioned, jungle hikes), and want to try and fit in at least a couple of days of beaching/relaxing.

Then, fly back to Singapore from KL, and back to Incheon from Singapore on January 1st.

I know it's a short time, and of course I want to fit in 40 days of vacation into eight days. So what's actually feasible, and what shouldn't we miss?

Your suggestions/advice? As always, thank you, thank you!

8 days is tough. Sounds like just enough to see Singapore, Kuala Lumpur.. and yes, take a ferry over to Sumatra (for a day or two).

Doesn't sound like much more than that would fit in.

Unless Sumatra infrastructure has changed dramatically as of very recently.. its not a good place to be going overland visiting cities on an incredibly strict deadline. You might want to just choose one city in Sumatra to arrive in by ferry.. spend a couple nights.. and then go back again by ferry.

Sounds like you are better off with Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, and just choosing a nice beach area somewhere in Malaysia to fill that 8 days.
