every time someone sits at my computer, something changes. it's so annoying. once, when i put a dvd in, it'd open automatically, until this person used it. now i have to go searching for my d drive.

and, my songs on media player play in a random order now, not one after the other. and, i know i'm an idiot with computers, but i thought i'd be able to figure out how to get it back to playing like it used to. alas, i can't. how do you do that?

You'll have to ask them to make their own "profile" under Windows XP. If somebody comes onto your computer they will need to logout of your profile and into theirs, which will preserve your settings.

not to worry, this is easy to fix. The DVD thing is happening because autoplay is off. i can't remember how to turn it back on, but if you google it you should be able to find it. the media player (if it's windows media player) is also easy to fix. click on the "now playing" tab, and go to the right side. there is an area where the tracks in the current playlist are listed. at the top is a button that says "Now Playing List". click on it, and it will give you a bunch of options. one of these is "play shuffled". if there's a check beside it, click it and it should work like before.

good luck!

I really don't like people using my computer. Get on, check your email, and get off.
