Hi, guys. I've been accepted into the ETIS program run by the Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education, and I know there is a week-long training session at the end of August. I was wondering if any of you will be attending, and how you all feel about your positions. Personally, I'm quite excited, and I'm interested to see how working in a public school compares to working at hagwons!

I work for SMOE, part of the first group of ETIS, last year's intake.

Check your email box, I sent along an email address of someone who can get you on our usergroup. Lots of interesting posts about teaching in the public school system/admin matters and other things. Lots of info. in the archives of interest to you, probably.

I'll also be heading to Seoul for the SMOE orientation at the end of the month! Just found out today, I'm so excited that I can't even sleep! I'd like to get on that usergroup too, please. Let me know how!

Hello,

I've been accepted into the program as well, signed a contract and all of that. However, I have not received the degree I sent them, nor have I been told exactly where and when the training will begin. Is anyone in the same boat? Is everyone at Smoe just really busy right now?

I just received my acceptance letter today from SMOE and will also be at the training center somwhere southesat of Seoul. I am excited for the change and eager for more info from the yahoo group...
