Wow, I couldn't believe my eyes. I was taking my family on a trip 40 km south of Incheon to Chebu Island. Nearing the end of our journey, and in the middle of farmland and bush, we went passed a group of large buildings, in a complex nearly completed, and called something like "English Village."
This place is quite in the country. There are a few fruit stalls around but no towns for 10 km, no PC rooms, hardly even a cigarette store for several kms. It is at least 25km drive south from Oido.
I wonder if anyone else has seen this place?

Hi,

I came across the pics of this place on the Web. Talk about being in the middle-of-nowhere!

I haven't been to that particular English village, but I went to the one in Paju on Friday during a summer camp for the schools in our area.

It was definately not what I expected, it looks like they've sunk a lot of money into these places. I think that activities inside though were too expensive for the kids though. There was some free actitivities, but each of those (the post office, the medical clinic, etc) was only open for one session every three hours. To top that off, there was a limit of 30 students per activitiy.

The students did one paid activity (making a robot, making a toy or making cookies) and two free ones. The rest of the time they played in the fountain and walked around.
