There is word on the street about Gates & Companies' newest product hitting the market the end of the year just in time for Christmas.
This will surely drive IPod prices down and hopefully Microsoft can get their program together with all the glitches that can occur with their own units.
News came out a couple weeks ago. This might be worth waiting for. It even will come with Sirius satellite radio built in but doubt we would be able to pick it up here.

Zune May Launch on November 14
Tuesday, August 1st, 2006 at 9:50 AM - by Jeff Gamet
Microsoft may rollout its Zune media player and music download service on November 14. Engadget reports that Microsoft's answer to the iPod and iTunes Music Store is slated for a release just in time for the holiday buying season along with 13 Microsoft-branded accessories.
The Zune player is expected to have a 3.75-inch color display, 30GB hard drive, and three color options: black, brown, and cotton.
Apple is also expected to release at least one new iPod model before the end of the year. Analysts are speculating that an updated iPod nano as well as a video capable iPod with a larger screen are on the way. |

Best of luck to them, but they've got a long and hard battle ahead. I read in another article that they're not expecting to make a profit on this for 5 years or more. There's already in the neigbhorhood of 60 million iPods out there. It will be very interesting to see how it's recived and how it functions. But come on...Brown? Who wants a brown mp3 player?

Microsoft should have done this years ago in the beginning stages of the Apple Revolution. Give 'em a few months to get their tech support going here on the peninsula and someone give word when they're available. |
