Ok, I little while ago there was a topic here on how to connect your laptop to your tv. I followed the instructions posted and could not get it to work. I eventually came to the conclusion that my tv was the problem and not my laptop or the setting on it. Well, last night I picked up a better tv and following the instructions from before I successfully connected my laptop to my tv.

I played a couple of movies and it looks great except for one thing, the picture on the tv is black and white.

Is there a setting that I must change in order to get it to show color? I'm connected through an s-video cable. Can someone with experience help me out with this.

thanks in advance.

Suggestion#1. Make sure you don't have any other video outs in use. When I plug my laptop into both external VGA monitor and S-video for my TV, I get a B&W signal on my TV. When I remove the external VGA, it's OK. Don't ask me why.

Suggestion #2: Get a new S-video cable. Like any cable, pieces or pins can break. One of the lines inside carries the color information.
