|
|
I'm trying to activate my internet banking from Woori Bank (or rather, was, it seems I have not done it in the allotted time so now I am not able to...but that is another story).
Anyway, when I go to the Woori Bank homepage, I get a Korean error message pop-up. All I can understand from it is that I can not use the page because I do not have Service Pack 2 installed. I click on the English option for the page and get the same Korean error message.
I went to the bank and they told me I need to have SP 2 installed or I simply can not use their website.
My computer is only a few months old, purchased new, in the sealed box, came with authentic Win XP Home CDs which I loaded. I KNEW I had Service Pack 2 installed, but I went to the MS Updates page anyway and tried to update it with SP2. Of course, I got the Microsoft message saying that SP2 is already installed and running correctly on my computer.
Oh, and I tried in both IE and Firefox, both of them that I updated at the same time to make sure that I have the latest versions.
Any reason WHY this stupid banking page can't seem to see that I DO have Service Pack 2 installed, and is there any way around it?
At this point in time I am pulling the typical "Stupid Korean thing" attitude towards it, but I really want there to be a better explanation.... |

Ah, but it's not *KOREAN* WinXP with SP2. You must immediately uninstall that inferior English version and install the superior Korean product.
Or, perhaps, set your default unicode language setting to Korean font - it's unlikely, but it might work.

I have English XP with SP2 and the Woori Bank Internet banking works just fine for me... Korean XP is not required. You HAVE to use IE though ... it won't work with any other browser, because the Worri Bank site installs several ActiveX programs. |

Hmmm perhaps that is the problem? I did not install any Active X programs?
If I do install Active X, it should work?
Have you tried their telephone banking, out of curiosity, I may have to try that instead because apparently if you do not set up internet banking within 3 days of setting up your account you can not set up internet banking!! How ridiculous is THAT!? (I am still trying to re-set up the i-banking but may have to find an alternative) |
