IGTG will love this..

A French documentary claims French soldiers had two opportunities to shoot and kill Osama bin Laden, but they were not given the go-ahead by their American superiors.
According to media reports, the documentary says French special forces had the leader of al-Qaeda in their sights twice in Afghanistan, in 2003 and 2004.
The soldiers would have fired on him, the film says, but the order to kill simply never came from the U.S. commanders in charge. |

I'd like to see this documentary. The claim seems a bit dubious to me. |

Americans hate the Frenchies but few realize they have one of the best Trained Forces in the World. They have their own private army FFL, has more desert experience then any other regiment in the world. |

Especially when...

The documentary has created a stir among government officials. The French cable network LCI says the Defence Ministry is calling the film's claims "pure fabrication." |

Isn't the FFL prone to mutiny?
From Wicki:
"The 1st Regiment Etranger Parachutiste was established in 1955 and disbanded in April 1961 as the entire regiment rose against the French government of Charles de Gaulle, in protest against moves to negotiate an end to the Algerian War. "
"A battle in Syria saw two opposing sides fight against each other in a short engagement, and later on the Vichy Legion joined its Free French brethren."

They just feel strongly about political causes.
Of course the German army would never disobey orders no matter how much they hated them. Unfortunately. |

Just as I thought!
Eurasia had a chance to kill Emmanuel Goldstein AND THEY BACKED DOWN!
This is why we will ALWAYS be at war with Eurasia.
I HATE THAT EMMANUEL GOLDSTEIN SO, SO VERY MUCH!
Death to Goldstein, death to Eurasia, long live the fraternal alliance of Eastasia and Oceania!
Oceania, 'tis of thee . . . |
