What would you do if you arrived in Tokyo in the early afternoon (Narita Airport), had one night pre-paid in a hotel close to the airport, and had to leave for Korea the same time the next day? |

Honestly id dump the hotel and head into tokyo for the night accept you might have to pay for a capsule hotel. Narita is a good few hours from central Tokyo and the trains stop at midnight. The area around Narita has one big temple but if you havent been to Tokyo before you really ought to go into town and visit a few areas ie Akihabra(electronics town) Shibuya(home of the busiest crosswalk in the world and lots of other very japanese stuff)Harijuku(weird Japanese fashion)Shinjuku(kind of downtown just amazingly busy) Roppongi(lots of nighlife)Asakasa(big temple)Tokyo Central(Imperial palace).
Basically if you havent been there before there isnt time to sleep! you can even have breakfast at Tskeji fishmarket(great sushi/sashimi).
If you have been there before im sure you have your own favourites but i couldnt imagine wasting a day in Japan in an airport hotel. |

You're doing that with a group of girls?
Why the long lay-over? That's nuts, unless it was planned that way.
Get a new travel agent! |

Narita is good.
if it were me.. i'd probably leave your stuff in the hotel.. get a nice nap.
then in the evening.. immediately head to Rappongi and get drunk all night in Wall Street Bars and Gas Panic Club.
Then take the first train in the morning back to your hotel.. get your stuff and take a shower.. and hit the airport. |

No, the students wen't back to Korea two weeks ago. I'm staying in Canada until the next semester starts. The layover was the only way I could get a flight that left after my sister's wedding, on the 19th. |

Are those places around Narita or central Tokyo? |

Yeah, thanks for the suggestions. I've been to Japan but never Tokyo, and think I might pull an all-nighter. |

That's not a lot of time.
If you wanna booze it up and party, Rappongi.
If you wanna have a look around and see how things are done in Tokyo - try a few stops on the Yamanote Line - Ikebukaro, Takadanobaba, Shinjuku, Harajuku and Shibjuya.
You don't have enought time to really do much. Narita isn't conveniently located to Tokyo. |

Rappongi is right in central Tokyo. Its well worth it though.
An overnight in Tokyo, and not even taking advantage of experiencing the Tokyo nightlife would be a shame. Plus things go all night.. and those slice of pizzas while drinking beer at Gas Panic tastes great when you haven't had anything like that in Korea!
Plus Japanese girls like to wear short skirts and dance on the bar tables in Gas Panic. Very nice and thats just a regular bar! |
