The Good:
There were no numbers to take, we were there before they opened the doors, Korean high level guy came outside and opened the door to let us in 25 minutes early, turned on the tv for us (Soccer highlights woo hoo!) and got me some coffee. There was a waiting lounge with sofas and reading materials. About two minutes to 9, 30 Koreans rushed in, but we got our stuff done in a record 19 minutes. What really impressed me is that they'll be helping one person, get your stuff back from another office, call you right back to their window and help you finish while helping the other person too. It's all about flexibility, imho. I know I'm only a dog, but I can say without a doubt, that I'm satisfied with the job they're doing. Of course it always helps if you have all your stuff ready when you get there too.
The Bad: No doggie biscuits available in the lounge. |

We all have good and bad experiences with koreans or korean businesses...the same can be said about any other nationality. And I'm sure koreans say the same about non koreans...... |

I, too, have had much success and been treated with respect and in an expeditious manner with the SFO office in CA on Clay Street. Courteous and intelligent people versed in what is necessary for any type of visa.
I will be sending for a new visa in a matter of months and am happy to use their services again.

On the other hand, unfortunately the Ottawa embassy has taken a turn for the worse. |

The Canadian Embassy is Seoul is pathetic. Crappy hours and service. It is an embarrassment. |

Can't park in the parking lot any more, at the side door to the consulate where you buzz to be let in they tell you to go around to the main entrance- just stupid inconvenient stuff for no good reason that could be solved with one or two strategically placed signs. |

except when it's a bad experience for you, it's proof of koreans neverending evilness. when it's a good experience you get all philosophic. |

I had an experience similarly positive to the OP's in New York. It helped to be there during a game where Korea was playing in the World Cup, because there were NO Koreans transacting their business. |

I had to call them today because the Atlanta, Georgia thing was not able to handle my tourist visa application.
L.A. was okay. |

I have gotten a tourist visa from Atlanta. Wonder if things have changed or if the person you spoke to just couldn't be bothered. |

Gee, I wonder if it was just a case of Ms. Kim feeling lazy or something.
By the way, are you from Florida? |
