The U.S. and South Korean flags were taken down in a ceremony at Camp Hialeah in Busan yesterday as the U.S. military base was shut down and the 134-acre (54-hectare) site returned to South Korea.

Roh Under Fire Over Wartime Command Withdrawal
Sixteen former defense ministers and nine retired generals on Thursday expressed dismay at President Roh Moo-hyun�s remarks in an interview Wednesday that suggested Korea can withdraw wartime control of its troops from the U.S. any time.... U.S. official involved in bilateral consultations on the issue Wednesday called "highly inappropriate" President Roh's insistence on using the word "withdrawal" instead of "exercising sole control" of Koreans troops.

| That's too bad, Camp Hialeah was cool, been there a couple of times during my travels before. They had the best JJa-JJang Myun I ever had eaten on a military installation. |
