Hey Everyone,
Just wondering if anyone knows if a 4-year degree is required to teach in Korea? I have noticed some job postings that specify this but I will only have a 3-year degree....just wondering if I will qualify for most positions?
Thanks in advance! |

Yes, I will have a bachelor's degree but it will be without a major. Instead it will have a concentration and be finished in 3 years instead of the normal 4. I was just wondering if maybe visa's reguired a 4-year degree or if any bachelor degree was fine? |

It's fine. Just say to anyone who asks (employer, etc), I have a bachelor degree from ___ College. If they ask about a major, just say, I had a concentration in ___ and ___. Provide no other information, they will not ask. You only confuse them when you volunteer more.
Hope that helps. |

Unless you went to school in Canada. 3-year BA's are BA's. It means you had 1 major and nothing else. 4-year/Hon. BA's are ones that have either Major/Minor or Major/Major.
I have a three year BA and immigration haven't said anything (though it is still being processed).

I'm from Canada, but it is a BA. My school is one of the few that offers either a 3 year option with a concentration in a subject and no minor or a 4-year option with a major and a minor. Eventually I will do the fourth year but I need to pay down those student loans first! Bottom line, I will have a degree, I just noticed on alot of recruiting sites and job postings that a 4-year degree was specifically mentioned and wanted to make sure that it wasn't something visa related. |

As long as you have a Bachelors degree from an accredited or provincial University (means listed here: http://www.aucc.ca/can_uni/our_universities/index_e.html ) then you are fine. |

i'm from new zealand and my degree is a 3 year degree and i have double majors....a 3 year degree doesn't necessarily mean you don't have a double major...many kiwis have this....in new zealand a 4 year degree is when you are doing two different types of degree like law and humanities or science and business and you combine them to do two degrees simultaneously ...also a 4 year course often gets a humanities student a honours degree
cheers
