Doctors' Lobby Groups Spat Over English Names
Two representative medical organizations are at odds over their official English names. The Association of Korean Oriental Medicine (AKOM) representing South Korean doctors of Oriental medicine has been seeking to change its English name to "Korean Medicine," deleting the word "Oriental." ....

You meant to say Mumbo-Jumbo Medicine, no?

And yeah, that article was so tedious that even my dogs refused to read it. Or eat it. In fact, they'd already skimmed it last night and debated whether RR would bother posting it. They were wrong, as usual.

When I first read this thread title, I thought that some doctors came back after studying abroad and realized who is to blame why everyone in the west would read their last name 'Choi' as Choy and not pronounced as Che like back in Korea. That would be a purposeful protest.

And in any case, the *Han* in *Han Yak* originally only meant Chinese (as in the Han dynasty, not Han as in Dae Han Min Gook), so whatever they say, they are being hypocrits and trying to lose their Chinese roots again.
