| i'm not sure on how to change the background, but to add music, go to the music icon on the top of the page, and it'll take you to the music section of myspace, and if you scroll down, you'll see different genres of music. or you can go to the top left and put in a particular artist into search artist, then click on any of the spaces, then click 'add' on any particular song that you want to be played. |

You have to go order an ugly stick. If you can't get one online, I think they sell them in Dongdaemoon. Then, beat the living christ out of your MySpace page with the ugly stick. That should do it. |

Yeah exactly. Changing backgrounds and that other nonsense has about a 99% effectiveness rate of making your page one of the worst looking pages on the internet. I strongly recommend leaving it the hell alone.
As for adding music, there are two ways. One is to link to songs available on myspace music.. not sure how to do that. On my page, I have three songs in rotation with a music player plugin. Here's how:
Basically, you need online web storage to which you will upload the MP3(s) you want to have on your page. There are plenty of free places, but the best one that I've found is
Mediamax Streamload
That site will allow you to download 500 megs a month for free (now it's like 1gb I think), has great management utilities, easy to use, etc. I like it.
After you've uploaded your songs, you need to also upload a .m3u file. For example, mp3rotation.m3u. This file can be created with Notepad, and it needs to contain the url of whatever mp3s you want to play on your page.
Then you go to Edit Profile, then Personality & Interests, and click Edit on whatever category you want your mp3 player to be in. Mine is in the Music category. Then you need to just copy and paste this info somewhere in there:
<embed allowScriptAccess="never" name="RAOCXplayer" src="http://mediamax.streamload.com/Shanejunho/Hosted/Uploads/mp3rotation.m3u" type="application/x-mplayer2" width="300" height="45" ShowC.0 ShowStatusBar="0" loop="true" shuffle="-1" EnableC.0 DisplaySize="0" pluginspage="http://www.microsoft.com/Windows/Downloads/Contents/Products/MediaPlayer/"></embed>
The src file needs to be changed to whatever the url of your .m3u file is. That should work for you, though. |

Go to the Forum link near the top of page, then scroll down to the Myspace forum. Then Customizing. Everything you need to know is there. |

I agree. And I strongly recommend not putting music on your site. If I'm on my computer, then I've already got my own music or a movie playing, and I don't really want it interrupted by someone else's music, which I probably don't even like, suddenly blasting out of my speakers. |
