Man I just got back from shopping for like 4 hours in Dongdaemun.. holy cow what a fackin nightmare that is! Every stall I go to it's the same routine:

1. Hello!!
2. Uh.. 안녕하세요?
3. OOHH!! SPIKI KOREAHN?!!

Then begins the hassle. What pants do you want? These? These? You don't like it? How about these? Oh, you want a t-shirt? This one? This one? I can lower the price if you don't like it!

AAHHHH!!!

And then the people who get angry or personally insulted when I don't like any of their products. They suddenly start speaking to me in 반말 and I call them on it. 고객한테 반말로 말해요? (You speak like that to customers?) Then comes the embarrassed smile and claim that it was just a joke.

All in all, it was a great time! I'll definitely go back~

Goddamnit. I just tried on the shirts I bought tonight.. none of them fit. It was the largest size and they're so small they wouldn't have fit me even back in middle school. What a waste of time and money. How can their LARGEST size be so freakin small?

See many other white guys when you were there? That probably explains the small sizes

I saw a couple white guys who were overweight. I don't think anything in the entire neighborhood would fit them.

I'm still pissed. Oh well, at least I only paid 10,000 won for each shirt. So that's um... only 60,000 won I lost. I have a really skinny friend in the US; maybe I'll just mail these to him.

Shopped for 4 hours and didn't try anything on before you bought it? Or even had the salesperson question you on whether the clothes would fit? I weigh 160 pounds and I still have Koreans tell me I need a bigger size.

Well there are no dressing rooms. I went to this flea market type building crammed with booths. Of course the salespeople told me it would fit, lol. I held the shirts up to my body and they seemed to fit.. sucks for me, yes.
