Spinning off of LL Moonmanhead's thread:
Who else sleep walks? I often will walk into the next room and then wake up. It usually happens if I am on a tight schedule or sleeping in a new place. I think it is some kind of defense mechanism to make sure I am familiar with my surroundings. Girlfriends have told me I talk to them with my eyes open in the middle of the night. One time, I rolled over ontop of my then-girlfriend and said "Hey, can I make you a drink?" She said, "no," pretty confused. I said, "It'll get you drunk real quick!" She said "no" again and I was back to normal sleeping position. I have also been known to walk into a room full of people (when I lived with others) and start talking to them about off-the-wall topics...like sharks. |

My little sister used to sleep-walk and -talk when she was a kid. I would hear her mumbling in her sleep about pumpkins and the letter O, e.g., "Os are round! Oooohhhhhh!"
My favorite story concerning her weird nocturnal habits is this one:
My father was watching television in the basement. He heard *thump* *wump* *bam* *crash* *bump* and saw my sister falling down the stairs. She stood up, apparently unfazed, and asked my father "Do you have any undershirts?" My dad asked her why, but her only reply was a bewildered expression, as if the answer was obvious, or there was no answer to that question at all. Then she trudged back up the stairs again. |

I don't know if this counts as sleepwalking exactly, but when I was a kid (maybe 10 or so) I remember waking up to go to the bathroom. I was at the toilet in mid stream (so to speak) when my dad started talking to me, although I don't remember seeing him. He asked me what I was doing to which I replied I was in the bathroom. This confusd my dad, as he himself was in the bathroom, and I most certainly wasn't there. I finally woke up properly to find out I was relieving myself in the laundry hamper in the spare room...
...oh, and once (as a teeneager) I walked into my parents room, whilst having the same dream. In the dream I was naked, and judging by the awkward atmosphere at breakfast, I was in real life. (I pray to this day my hands were in a safe place... ) |

| Alan, that is hilarious. It reminds me of an older friend I have who was sleep walking and peed in his refridgerator! His wife at the time was very upset. The same guy won't stay in an upper-level room with doors or easily opening windows because he heard stories about sleep walkers falling to their death. |

I was a sleepwalker as a kid, when TVs were new. Our bedtime was some ridiculous time like 8PM. Mom would drag us to bed, I'd go to sleep, then get up and come back to the living room and plop down in front of the TV with my stuffed dinosaur. Being carried back to bed didn't work so the folks gave up and let me sit there till they turned off the TV and went to bed.
My greatest adventure, the one that got brought up and thrown in my face at the supper table by my older brother, was the night I sleptwalked into the closet and peed on the floor. |

| My dad used to sleepwalk when he was a teenager. One night he sleptwalked through the 2nd floor bathroom window and crashed onto the lawn. He was lucky he didn't break his neck, although he broke his leg. The neighbors thought my grandfather had thrown him through the window (my grandfather's temper was well-known throughout the neighborhood, apparently), so there was even a police investigation. |

| My wife sleepwalks sometimes. The first time, I caught her before she walked out the front door shirtless. The second time, she just stood at the windowsill petting the cat for a really long time. The cat was confused. |
