What are the odds of this one!
So Mr Canuckistan is enjoying a round of golf with his brothers and cousins. This is in Bismarck, North Dakota on a beautiful little golf course snuggled up to the Missouri River. And full of wild turkeys.
They're a 100 yards from the 3rd hole and there's this huge gobbler (male turkey) on the green. Cousin Kerry gets ready to take his shot while cousin Bee jokingly says "Hey Kerry, betcha can't hit that turkey!!" Cousin Kerry loves animals and has no intention of trying to hit that turkey. It's a 100 yrds away anyways.
So he whacks the ball....it goes sailing toward the 3rd hole and to everyone's growing amazement, right at the turkey. The turkey, aware that something is happening, decides to hup it off the green. Just as the turkey takes a few hops/flaps to get outta there the ball hits the ground, bounces and whacks the turkey right on the side of the head!
Instantly keels over right there on the green, wings spread out, on its back, unmoving.
Well you can imagine the howls of laughter and surprise coming from the guys...cousin Kerry is absolutely mortified...and now they're joking about how they're going to strap this dead turkey to one of the golf carts and bring it home for dinner--good eating hey.
But as they approach the green a few minutes later the "dead" turkey stands up! Though it's clear it's got some residual problems...it just stands there on the green and begins listing to about 45 degrees, not really moving. A tilted turkey. More howls of laughter.
After 5 minutes of serious listing the turkey finally got itself together, straightened up and took off.
Cousin Kerry relieved, but you just know he hasn't lived that one down ever since |

| There was a story in Sports Illustrated several years about a golf tournament in Greenland. One of the golfers nailed a sled dog passing by. The sled driver kept on, dragging the fallen dog behind, no doubt befuddled by the sudden demise of his dog. A sad story. But the way it was written made it one of the most hilarious things I've ever read. |

One under par is a birdie.
Two under, eagle.
A turkey? That's a new one for me..
That, or maybe a little too much Wild Turkey was being passed around. |

very funny
but I think I can top it. Many years ago I'm playing a course in Dayton, Oh. 9th hole VERY elavated tee. We can see down to the fairway and see these ladies ahead of us. I'm 16 and haven't been playing long so I figure these ladies are out of range. I figure I cant hit them so I hit my tee shot, as it fades to right it bounced and hits one of the ladies in the a$$!!!!
We wanted to hide, thank god they couldn't see us, they were looking
still made a 9
guess you can say that was my first piece of a$$ |

I suppose I really should have titled this thread: "What have you nailed with a golf ball?" |

I have foggy memories of a bar named "Walnut Hills" in Dayton that played a whole lot of Dead tunes and had cute, sweet mamas running around. Anyone else been there? |

Oh yeah spent many a friday happy hour there, 10 cent buffalo wings, got good and drunk there before heading off to the main evening parties.
Our univ didn't have classes after 3P on Fridays so you can imagine what the scene was like, remember this was in the pre-21 year old drinking age so the beer flowed like water |
