|
|
Has anyone managed to get an E-2 visa without having their actual degree diploma, with a letter from the university for example? I can't get my degree until November but the Proctor (person who deals with degree issues) told me a letter signed by her and endorsed by the Irish Department of Foreign Affairs would be sufficient for immigration. She said other students had used such a letter in the past to obtain visas in Japan and Korea. Any advice would be much appreciated.

IN a normal country, yes; but this is Korea where what works will depend on the attitude, mood, and opinion of whatever immigration official takes a look at your paperwork. |

Immi has been rejecting people's sealed transcripts for small mercurial reasons. So yeah, in the past that might have worked, but in recently there's been a huge crack down on people using fake degrees to get visas. So immi has ramped up their scrutiny of everything.
So it might work but maybe not. If it doesn't, understand the recent context. |

| A recruiter I contacted said no chance so I'm stuck until November. Thanks for the responses. |

| Don't believe a recruiter. Bottom of the food chain. It doesn't make what he or she said false, but do not take their word as law. |
