I triple dare him. If you actually built that you'd have a machine that would last at least 5-6 maybe 7 years before you'd need to even consider upgrading. |

Yeah...just about any CPU is the bottleneck in that baby.

oh man. No words can describe that thing. See, that's the video card I was going to get, but went with the 7900GTX. My motherboard has the sli capability, so in the future, I can buy another 7900GTX and go to town with it.
That is very tempting, but a little out of my price range (can you believe that!). lol.
Oh man.....quad sli?
That's ok. My system that I have ordered will last me a LOOOOOOOOOONNNNNNNNGGGGGGGGGGGGGG time before I will have to upgrade anything. I am looking at at least 2 years with this rig before I buy another video card.
Man...that is a nice little setup in the link. Think about it though, what could possibly require that much power? All games coming out within the next year will be completely compatible with any system you put together around the $1,500 dollar range. That system is for an animal....hmmm...maybe I should...hehehehe.... |

You'll have to install an A/C system in your tower just to make sure that bad boy doesn't overheat. lol. |

But 108.9 frames per second... imagine the number of polygons you could have in your world at that frame rate.
Besides, there's a work-around. |

Alright. The true KillBox.
Quad SLI ($1,200)
Quad-core Intel (not here yet, but lets say $1,000 initial cost)
2 1TB HDDs (Let's say $500 each)
80" Samsung plasma monitor ($30,000)
975X Chipset with 8GBs of RAM (no idea...all told $1,000? )
This will be very do-able quite soon. The mainboard is out, the quad core is coming down the pipe, the monitor is out, the HDDs are coming in late this year and the Quad SLI is here.
My word.... |

I would never leave home!!!
It's very noticeable these days that a good-sized LCD monitor, and I don't mean that 80'' monster, I mean around 21-24 inches, is easily the most expensive component in any decent system. |

| With a quad-SLI, one would want to put the absolute highest possibvle resolution display with it to at least let the system stretch it's legs. Anything under 1600x1200 would be a crime. |
