Just wondering if anybody knows how much alcohol is an international traveller allowed to bring into Korea without having to pay duty on it?

Cheers!

Hi,

I'm from Canada and the limit is 1 bottle of wine or 1 bottle of hard liquor - larger size, in Canada. If I remember correctly, Korea has the same limit as most countries - 1.

But remember if you are coming from the US, Canada, UK, etc., you can no longer carry any liquids in your carry on baggage - that pertains to liquor too. Do you trust it not to break in checked luggage?

Between Europe and the US it's 2 bottles of wine + 1 bottle of spirits. When I lived in France I used to pack wine into my checked luggage all the time. Just put the bottle into a large sock and pack it between clothing.

As much as you can sneak past customs. Get creative - you're allowed two checked bags and two carry-ons (technically one, but I always have two). Never had a problem.

I second that. I never see customs stopping anyone. If you're that worried about it, you can just bury the bottles deep into your bag.
