I've left Korea and I'm still owed money. A friend has offered to help me out with the labour board. I'm pretty sure I've heard this can happen, but I'm not 100% on it. Does anyone know for sure? And has anyone ever done this? cheers, stakay |

Ask over at Efl-law, I'm sure they have the info you need. |

I'm not sure about a friend, but my wife fully represented me when I had a case up with the labour board. I just had to write a letter (can't remember if it was in Korean or English) to attest to the fact that she would be representing my interests, and we both signed and dated it. I never even went to the meeting, and I won. |

I have done it in the past for others.... to answer your question, yes you can be represented by an agent. The agent does not have to be paid, does not have to be a lawyer and does not have to be Korean. It is in your best interest if they have some ability to communicate in Korean or have a translator.
You must give them a letter authorizing them to act in your behalf and to agree to the determination that comes as a result of their actions as your agent. The letter should contain your address, their address, your name, and their name.
Dear Sir;
This letter is my authorization for XXXXXX, residing at kkkkkkk,kkk,kkk,kkk to act on my behalf in the matter of yyyyy yyyyy yyyy.
Thank you for your time.
Stakay,
Signature.
