Yeah, its from Starcraft. For those of you who don't know, it, means "Good Game", and players will message that to each other before play.
Yes, this thread is in the right place.
Last month, my pay was 144,000 short. I talked to her about it. She said she doesn't pay for national holidays.
This month, Monday, my pay was about 250,000 short. Some OT plus 2 non-work days. I argued with her about the OT and non-work days. She paid the OT.
Today I came as close to raising my voice with her as possible without actually doing so. She told me that paying holidays was "difficult", and, "Korea is different system", and, "Korean not same as other place." She quoted law. I quoted law back. In the spring, when I negotiated an extension, and it came down to me demanding my tax receipts, she backed off in a big hurry, and the final negotiation was that I would work 120 hours a month, everything after was OT. That was AN ORAL AGREEMENT. She has vaccilated (sp?) between waving the contract and dismissing the contract as "not important" many times in the past. Today she claimed contract. So I went up to my apartment, and to my chagrin, it says, 30 hours a week. Not going my way huh? My turn to wave the contract. The next page says, "d). Tax for income will be deducted from the salary according to the Korean tax law, and the Employer will provide the Employee the receipt for this." Two pages later it says, "a). The employee may have 5 working days (6 month contract. sic.) as paid vacation..."
She wanted to talk to me in her office. I said no. She wanted to talk about march april and may when I had less than 120 hours per month. I knew where she was going with it. She wanted to claim that because I was short hours then, that I was just making them up now. Korean labor law says that it is not my responsibility of the institution fails to provide me with enough work.
She still wanted to talk. "No Mam", I said. "You are my boss and you are older than me. I won't argue with you. But here's what I am going to do. You have shorted me three days pay in the past two months. I will check my account tonight. If the money is not there, tomorrow morning I am going to call Labor. On Monday I am going to Cheoncham (whatever the cities name is) to file the paperwork for a complaint. After labor, I am going to call the Tax office to ask about my tax receipt. Then I will call the Pension Office and ask how I can register for pension....retroactive to March 2005. Then I am going to call the Health Insurance office and register using my ARC." Yeah, I said a lot. Her eyes grew big and she petulantly said, "ok, you do that." She dared me!
So I said......

| PS. I don't have time to continue here, 'cause I have to get to my classes, but if any kind soul wants to post quotes from any of the relevant offices, I would appreciate it. I will do more research on those myself tonight and tomorrow morning, but I think I might need all the help I can get on this. Thank you. |

| Yes, GG can be used at the beginning or the end. As in, "have a good game", or at the end, "good game". |

Not a Flame.
You threw down the gauntlet. You made the challenge
Then I am going to call the Health Insurance office and register using my ARC." Yeah, I said a lot.
and she accepted.
Her eyes grew big and she petulantly said, "ok, you do that." She dared me!

Now you have to back it up or take the egg on the face.
That what the expression Sh.t or get off the pot means....
time to stop sitting on the toilet ... do something or leave.
It is Not a pretty position to be stuck in cause it is a win/lose / lose face for someone... no room for compromise....
Sorry if you took it as a flame. That is NOT my style.

ttompatz. I know it's not your style. That's why I asked. Thanks for clarifying.
I thought maybe it was a flame because in the first post I was very aggressive, then in the second, asking for quotes.... Admittedly that seems a little lame even to me....
Ya' know, "I'm gonna' shoot that SOB! uh... by the way, anybody got a gun?" |
