My searches on Google are taking me to obscure and unrelated places, so I'll field this question to the experts here:
What can be said about Korean Philosophy of Law or Legal History?
I mean, often systems of law are classified as "civil law" or "common law," how about Korea, does Korea slant one way or the other?
I did however find this one sentence,
Quote: |
Because Germany was a rising power in the late 19th century when many poor Asian nations were introducing civil law, the German Civil Code has been the basis for the legal systems of Japan and South Korea. |
Any other insights? Is there trial by jury in Korea? What is "blood money"? etc, etc. How harsh are sentences here, what would be a typical sentence for simple break and enter with theft under a $1000? Adultery is a crime here? Pres. Rho has stopped executions? |
