Does anyone know of a GPS moving map that can be installed in a car... that... and here's the big thing... is in English, not Korean, and gives voice directions in English, too. |

good luck. But just think about how quickly you would learn the Korean necessary to use it. Reading Korean isn't difficult but understanding the instructions might be a bit of work.
I've been planning on getting a gps, but I don't drive often enough to justify the cost to myself. |

It's not going to be out there Paddycakes.
Think about how many tens of thousands of Korean placenames and English directions would have to be recorded and programmed into the thing. It would be months of expensive investment. No Korean company, or any company would bother for the paltry sales it would get.
Just get used to the Korean language models. I did, and my Korean is awful! It doesn't take much effort. |

I agree with Eamo. I too have GPS in my I-station V43 and although it's in Korean it's no problem getting around. Heck they even show you pictures of when to turn right and left, even a picture of the exit you should be looking for. |

If you go to the I-Park techno mart in Youngsan next to Space 9 there's a GPS store on the 3rd (or 4th floor) against the wall on the side that you come in. Its signage is in chrome-plated lettering and says something like, "PDA, DMB, Navigation, PDA 몬" He showed me a unit that has software running at least some English. I didn't look at it in detail, but I saw that at least the major locations were displayed in English. The software price was 90,000 won, I don't know what the unit was selling for. He doesn't speak English, so bring a Korean friend along
I'm looking for a GPS unit that I can use with my PDA. The one he showed me isn't compatible with my unit, so I'm still looking, but when I find one (blue tooth might be the answer) I think I'll go back to that store and give the software a try. |
