| Could have been worse. You could have given them to the parents and they would have just put them in the garbage. |

| you're talking about one of those USB Flash memory sticks? How did it erase it? There are a lot of free data recovery programs for flash memory. Remember, what's on the stick isn't totally erased until you've filled it back up with something else. |

Yeah, it was one of those memory sticks. I finished up my evals, made copies, and created a folder on the thumb drive. After I had put the copies in the new folder, I said to myself, " Delete the originals. You don't need the originals and the copies." I deleted the originals and BAM!!! It's all gone!!!
I'm chalking this one up to freak accident and a good lesson learned. Always save a copy on the hard drive!!! |

Did you maybe make "shortcuts" to the originals then delete them? Windows does my head in.. |

WOW! You have to write evaluations?
All I've ever had to do is wear rainbow suspenders over my wife-beater tank top, grow some stubble on my face, throw on a fedora, and juggle bowling pins! The monkey impersonation always makes them laugh too. |

| You know, deleted files are stored on the computer. I have seen people retrieiving deleted documents before. |

Yeah if they're stored on the hard drive. Unfortunately the files were on a thumb drive or USB thumb drives. When I deleted them they were fried. |
