Are the opticians in Korea good? Are they cheap? I ask because the last time I got my eyes checked in Ireland I had to pay 300 Euro + just for one set of lenses which is more than 300,000 Won. Should I get this done in Ireland or Korea?

when i've gotten it done, the actual examination seems to be free as long as you buy contacs/glasses from them. Its about 25-30,000 won for a six pack of disposal acuvues. (lasts between 6 weeks and three months, dpending on how long you wear them.)

Most definitely Korea. It's dirt cheap here, and they do a good job generally (we tested them by having an eye exam done and comparing it to the prescription from home. Bang on, including the astigmatism). You can get an eye exam plus frames and lenses for 25,000 won at about the cheapest. One store we went to was nervous about selling us a pair of frames because the whole thing would cost 85,000 won and they thought we would think it was too expensive! We'll stock up on glasses before we go home to last us a few years, too.

The only thing here is that you can't get clip-ons, even though all the ones at home are made in Korea.... Rolling Eyes

Thanks for the advice. I'll wait until Korea.
