| I'm looking to travel from the states to korea very soon, and I've seen alot of job posting by recruiters for teaching jobs. My brother lives south of souel and I'm wanting to be with in an hr or so. My question is should I to bite the bullet and pay my own way, bring all of my supporting docs stay a few week with him and find a place to teach on my own. Would a school be willing to refund me for my flight? Any help would be great. |

They probably wouldnt refund you the flight as they would pay for the visa run to Japan.
Its always beneficial to arrive and look at schools firsthand to get a handle on exactly what you are signing up for. |

I arrived in Korea on my own steam and I negotiated with my school to pay for my 1-year open return flight--1/2 at the start of the contract, the other 1/2 at the end.
It can be done but it depends on the school. |

If I could have afforded coming over on my own, and had a place to stay while I looked, I would have done it. If you don't want to spend the cash, take your chances. I'm happy with my job |
